Welcome to Stitch & Story by Irina - a small handmade studio where beautiful fabrics become useful pieces for everyday life.
I'm Irina, the maker behind Stitch & Story. I create limited-edition pouches, accessories, and textile goods with a love for beautiful prints, thoughtful details, and things that are made to be used and enjoyed.
My work is inspired by the textiles and objects that make everyday life feel a little more special - heritage prints, botanical patterns, European fabrics, vintage-inspired textiles, and the quiet beauty of things made by hand.
A little bit of history
Sewing has always been part of my story.
I grew up surrounded by handmade traditions, and my grandmother introduced me to sewing, embroidery, lace, and other textile crafts. My creative background also includes architecture, interior design, drawing, fine arts, and tapestry.
Those influences continue to shape the way I create today.
I'm drawn to the relationship between structure and softness - thoughtful shapes paired with expressive fabrics, practical function paired with beauty.
Made in small quantities
I don't believe beautiful things need to be made in endless quantities.
I work with limited amounts of fabric, which means many of my pieces are one of a kind or made in very small batches. When a beautiful fabric runs out, I often move on to something new rather than reproducing the exact same piece.
This makes each drop a little different and gives you the opportunity to own something that feels personal.
I also make thoughtful use of my materials whenever possible, incorporating smaller fabric pieces and scraps into new designs rather than letting them go to waste.
Why fabric matters
For me, fabric is often where the story begins.
I love discovering textiles from different traditions and places - British, French, Italian, Japanese, American, and beyond - and pairing them with complementary textures, linings, zippers, and details.
Sometimes I start with a shape and search for the perfect fabric.
Other times, a fabric is so beautiful that it becomes the starting point for an entirely new piece.
